Institute of Information Technologies of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (NASA) launched the course "Fundamentals of the information society" intended for students of Journalism faculty at the Baku State University (BSU).
The main goal of the course is to teach the basic tasks of scientific and theoretical fundamentals and various aspects of information society.
As stated in the information posted on the website of the Institute of Information Technologies, as part of the course students will be delivered lectures on such topics as the formation and development, legal, economic, social and cultural aspects of information society in Azerbaijan, appearance and development of the Internet, governing problems of the Global Network as well as electronic signature and electronic document, biometric data, Azerbaijani language and virtual space, e-citizens problems and ways of their solutions, information economy, information dependence and their ways of solution, information culture and security, information warfare, ecology and law, information society and intellectual property, information society and journalism, encyclopedia Wikipedia and its possibilities, etc.
